A REVIEW ON ADVANCEMENTS IN VAPORIZATION
The latest vaporizers are equipped with state-of-the-art capabilities for precise control of inhaled substances, enhanced safety measures, and minimal waste gas. In this review, we will be focusing on three such vaporizers, namely the Aladin cassette vaporizer, injection vaporizers, and AnaConDa™. The Aladin cassette is specifically designed to work with certain anesthesia machines, and its electronic vapor control unit is integrated into the system. The cassettes are removable and function as a vaporizing chamber. The Aladin cassette operates as a variable bypass and measured flow vaporizer, but it requires an external power source to function. Injection vaporizers are designed to rapidly achieve the desired end-tidal agent concentration, allowing for quick adjustments in anesthetic depth with minimal waste. These vaporizers are customized to work with specific anesthesia machines. AnaConDa™ is a combination vaporizer and humidity filter that can be added to the ventilatory circuit. It is primarily used in intensive care settings for sedation and in out-of-operating-room scenarios.
