Positional nomenclature using repositioning chair
Benign positional paroxysmal vertigo is the most common balance issue; diagnosis depends on identifying the head position that will provoke the specific nystagmus pattern and the sense of vertigo; the standard positions of the patient on the couch cannot be used when using the newly invented repositioning chairs used for diagnosis and treatment of that disease. This review report suggests new terms that should be used when reporting the head position of the patient using these chairs.
